Family says the Blind Side actor remains in critical condition as doctors investigate the cause of a sudden blood infection Actor Quinton Aaron, best known for portraying former NFL offensive tackle Michael Oher in the 2009 film The Blind Side, is hospitalized and on life support in Atlanta as he battles what family members describe as a severe blood infection. According to an online fundraiser organized on Aaron’s behalf, the 40-year-old actor was hospitalized after collapsing at his apartment and losing control of his legs.

He was taken to an Atlanta hospital, where doctors later identified a severe blood infection. His family says Aaron remains in critical condition as doctors work to determine the underlying cause of his sudden medical emergency. Aaron’s manager told TMZ that the actor is currently stable and able to communicate. However, no timeline has been given for when he may be taken off life support or what his long-term recovery could look like. Quinton Aaron in a football sequence from The Blind Side, which depicted Michael Oher’s early playing career before his rise to the NFL. A Sudden Medical Emergency

Details surrounding Aaron’s hospitalization remain limited. According to reports, he fell while walking upstairs at his apartment before being rushed to the hospital. Doctors are still investigating what caused the collapse and whether it was directly related to the infection now threatening his life. The fundraiser, which is being shared by supporters across social media, describes the situation as dire, noting that Aaron’s family is facing mounting medical bills and living expenses while focusing on his care. "When someone is this critically ill, life doesn’t pause... Bills continue, responsibilities don’t stop, and the road to recovery can be long and uncertain.”
