This information is available on your DD-214. If you do not have your DD-214, call the National Personnel Record Center (314) 801-0800.The annual dues are $45; optionally a VFW Post 3348 hat is $45; a VFW Post 3348 jacket is $75 (but your cost is $40).

As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group. Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Kosovo, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Global War on Terrorism, or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

If you have received a campaign medal for overseas service; have served 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days in Korea; or have ever received hostile fire or imminent danger pay, then you are eligible to join our ranks.

Part of eligibility is that you will need to show that you were honorably discharged (or are on active duty). Normally that is done by giving us a copy of your DD-214. Most DD-214s show your Social Security Number; we do not need that data. So, if your DD-214 shows that data and you do not want to share it, take a Sharpie and black it out (on the copy --- NOT on the original).

To connect us, contact our Membership Committee Chair, Jim Peterson @ (206) 522-0508. If you cannot reach Jim, call our Quartermaster Thom Fermstad @ (425) 766-5987.

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

Comradeship

No one looks down on you here. Being around fellow veterans at our dinners, socially, when we host Bingo at the Seattle VA Hospital or when we have Buddy Poppy events around Memorial Day, it is fantastic for relaxation and freedom to talk about anything (other than politics or religion --- which can be done but not at any official VFW function).

Discounts

The VFW appreciates your service, and so do patriotic businesses across the country. That's why we've teamed up to offer you -as a VFW member- and your family discounted pricing on valuable merchandise and services. It's just one more way we're able to say, "thank you" for all you've done to protect our freedom!
