WHAT IS SOCIALISM VS FASCISM

Socialism is a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community.

=====================================

No U.S. State or City, other than possibly utilities, owns any means of:

·       Production

·       Distribution

·       Exchange

No U.S. State or City, other than possibly utilities, regulates any means of:

·       Production

·       Distribution

·       Exchange

The U.S. Federal Government does NOT own any means of:

·       Production

·       Distribution

·       Exchange

The U.S. Federal Government regulates (via regulations, laws, etc.) some of the means of Production --- usually for safety and/or health reasons --- meant to protect the public.

The U.S. Federal Government does NOT regulate any means of:

·       Distribution

·       Exchange

Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are considered by some as Socialistic. Laws have been passed that allow monies to be allocated for, and payments sent to, those American citizens in need. Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are considered extremely popular because they help the American public --- usually seniors.

There are European countries, such as Denmark, which provide health care for all. While this is socialistic in nature, Denmark is not a Socialist country. Denmark is  unicameral, which means they have one legislature (parliament). Denmark is a representative democracy. Membership in their parliament is based on proportional representation of political parties, with a 2% electoral threshold. Denmark elects 175 members to their parliament. Democratic elections for membership in the Parliamentary are held every 4 years.

Some countries that are considered Socialistic are just authoritarian dictatorships i.e. one person (dictator) who makes ALL the decisions for the country e.g. Russia and China. They are:

·       Undemocratic

·       Controlled by a dictator (an authoritarian)

·       A totalitarian, authoritarian state

·       Hold public elections which are a complete farce ("show” elections)

A purely socialistic country is run by one person (dictator) who controls everything, i.e.:

·       Production

·       Distribution

·       Exchange

While Socialism, Communism or Fascism each have unique definitions, they have never been fully implemented. The countries who are considered Socialistic, Communistic or Fascist which are clearly and very obviously dictatorships --- run by one person --- the Dictator.

Dictators maintain power by means other than by popular vote. Dictators originally took control by various means (usually force or some cabal), and effectively eliminated opposition (usually by murder). There are never any legitimate elections. The people in those countries have no voice in how they are ruled unless they revolt enmasse.

For comparison:

Fascism

Fascism is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultra-nationalism characterized by:

·       dictatorial power

·       forcible suppression of opposition

·       strong regimentation of society

The first fascist movements emerged in Italy during World War I, before spreading to other European countries. Opposed to liberalism, democracy, Marxism, and anarchism, fascism is placed on the far right within the traditional left–right spectrum.
