Blackburn Aurora VFW Post 3348 meets on the 1st Wednesday of the month @ (6:30 pm) at the Acacia Memorial Park at 14951 Bothell Way NE, Shoreline, WA. If the 1st Wednesday is a national holiday, we will probably meet on the 3nd Wednesday of that month. We serve dinner (no charge) to our members before we hold our regular meeting.
The first Post Commander for Blackburn VFW Post 3348 was Frank Christiansen in 1934. The members of VFW Post 3348 built Blackburn Hall near the corner of NE 125th St & 15th Ave NE in Seattle. In 1972, Aurora VFW Post 2287 merged with us.
In 2000, our former Quartermaster (who it turned out was a criminal) sold two adjacent 1/2 acres that our Post owned (which included Blackburn Hall) for $1.2 million. He did not get approval from our members --- which violated his oath of office as well as it violated several statutes in the National VFW ByLaws.
It appears that he stole up to $150,000 and gave the remaining funds to what was named the VFW Post 3348 Foundation --- then made himself and his two personal attorneys members of the 5-person Foundation Board.
These two attorneys refused to tell us how much this Foundation financially initially received. Then they made no reports to our Post about how they spent whatever funds they had --- which are now gone. It appears that this criminal QM paid hush money to a few key Post members.
